The Effectiveness of School Principals' Roles in Achieving High-Quality Schools

Abstract

The principal plays a crucial role in determining the quality and success of education at the school. As educational leaders, school principals are responsible for managing, guiding, and developing the school’s full potential so that educational goals can be achieved to the fullest extent possible. The effectiveness of a principal’s performance is a key factor in creating high-quality schools. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research, involving a review of various relevant scientific literature, such as national journals and educational articles. The study findings indicate that the effectiveness of a principal’s performance encompasses several key aspects, namely leadership, academic supervision, managerial skills, collaboration, and adaptation to developments in educational technology. The principal's leadership plays a key role in fostering a positive school culture and boosting teachers' motivation. Academic supervision contributes to enhancing teachers’ professionalism and the quality of learning. In addition, managerial skills and collaboration are key factors in the effective management of school resources. On the other hand, the ability to adapt to technological advancements presents both a challenge and an opportunity for improving the quality of education. Thus, the effectiveness of a principal’s performance plays a strategic role in creating high-quality schools.
