Implementation Of Aswaja Values In Islamic Religios Education Learning For The Formation Of Student Character

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah (Aswaja) values ​​in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning for the development of student character. The Aswaja values, which include tawassuth (moderation), tasamuh (tolerance), tawazun (balance), and i'tidal (justice), are considered to play a crucial role in shaping students' religious, tolerant, and noble character. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data sources obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of Islamic Religious Education teachers, students, and school officials involved in the learning process. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, using triangulation techniques to maintain data validity. The results indicate that the implementation of Aswaja values ​​has been integrated into the planning, implementation, and evaluation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning. Teachers incorporate Aswaja values ​​into learning materials and apply them through active learning methods, discussions, role models, and daily habits. This implementation has had a positive impact on student character development, such as increased tolerance, empathy, responsibility, and politeness in interactions. However, this study also identified several obstacles, such as limited learning time and the influence of an external environment that was less than conducive to the internalization of values. Thus, the implementation of Aswaja values ​​in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning has been shown to make a significant contribution to strengthening students' character education. Therefore, collaboration between schools, teachers, families, and the community is necessary for optimal and sustainable internalization of Aswaja values.
